Australians have reason to smile, as they will soon be able to pay their bills using between 50 to 100 cryptos. This came after one of the bill payment firms in the country signed a deal with a senior Cryptocurrency exchange operating in there.

The customers will be able to use any of the coins available in their Cointree accounts to settle a number of bills. It will be made possible irrespective of whether the Cryptocurrencies are accepted by the billers in question.

The Deal Between Cointree and Gobbill

On August 20th, 2018, one of the largest bill payment firms operating in Australia, Gobbill announced a partnership between Cointree, which is an established Cryptocurrency exchange also offering services to the residents of Australia.

According to the announcement, this international partnership deal that these two firms agreed to make will give their users an opportunity to pay household bills using the Cryptocurrency coins kept in their Cointree wallets.

Gobbill, through a statement on their official website clearly points out that bills that are issued from any provider in Australia can be easily paid through its system, including insurance, council rates, telecommunications, as well as utilities.

One of the senior representatives from Cointree clarified that the integration to allow bill payments through any coins listed on the exchange will be complete in an estimate of one month.

Before that happens, the customers would continue to pay their bills with just Bitcoin using the Cointree main platform. The Gobbill customers will also be able to link a Cryptocurrency wallet in their accounts and choose to pay their bills using their bank accounts, credit card, or a particular Cryptocurrency coin.

50 to 100 Crypto Coins for Paying Bills

At the moment, Cointree has 27 crypto coins listed on its main website. Top among these are Bitcoin Core, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, Dash, Ripple, and others like ZRX, XEM, TRX, QTUM, ONT, OMG. But according to a representative from the exchange, ten more virtual coins have been listed on the site, and they will be revealed when the next update is made.

The new list comprises of KMD, BAT, DGB, GNT, STEEM, SC, DCR, BTG, LSK, and ZEC. The 50 to 100 coins would be listed once the integration with Gobbill will be done. Add-on features, particularly attached to Gobbill, are expected to launch within two months. These features will allow the customers to either swap or change the utility providers before the bills are updated on the main platform. The add-on features haven’t been confirmed yet as the team is still holding consultative meetings to ensure that all accept them.
